Substrate for Aquariums

Description

The JBL ProScape PlantSoil BROWN is a brown freshwater aquarium substrate for aquascaping and available in various units.

Rich in minerals
ProScape Soils are special bed substrates that have been specially adapted to the needs of aquascapers. Soils are not water-neutral but have a softening effect. They soften the water and slightly acidify it to shift the pH to the slightly acidic range. The JBL PlantSoils are highly nutrient-laden to immediately provide the plants with nutrients and minerals, while ShrimSoils are nutrient-poorer.

Application
The substrate should be rinsed briefly with tap water to remove any transport-related abrasion. In order to prevent accumulation of minerals in the water, 50% of the water should be changed every 2-3 days in the first two weeks after filling. Since the influence of the water values in the source water and the intervals between the water changes is dependent, the softening effect decreases over time and should be taken into account when mineralising the alternating water.

Calculation formula for the right amount of substrate: Length (cm) x Width (cm) x Height (cm): 1000 = Liter JBL ProScape Plant Soil

Tip
We recommend, prior to the introduction of the substrate, the possibility of a a floor heating cable such as the JBL ProTemp base, as a subsequent introduction requires an emptying of the complete aquarium!
