Description
Hygrophila lancea 'Araguaia' can be used to break up a monotonous midground backdrop with its upright growth and narrow, lance-like leaves in reddish hues. The stem plant will send out runners in good light conditions and display dense growth. Shrimps in particular love the dense little forests. Aquascapers can create sophisticated layouts with this 8 to 10 cm high beauty, making it a popular plant in every wel--stocked store. It is a rather undemanding plant with simple needs including good light, medium temperature and clean water. NOTE: Some species of snails prefer this stem plant as a crunchy snack!
- Light requirements: good to intense
- Optimal temperature: 18 to 27°C
- Water values: clear water, regular changes
- pH value: 5 to 7- tolerant
- CO2 and nutrient addition: recommended
- Propagation: runners, cuttings
Note: The plants are grown in-vitro in sterile conditions in a laboratory. They are therefore also suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. In-vitro plants do not harbour pests such as snails or parasites. No pesticides are used.
