Description

The relatively easy-to-care Bucephalandra sp. 'Theia' comes from the island of Borneo and can handle soft to hard water. The 5 to 7 cm epiphyte binds to roots or stones in the aquarium with a really great effect.

The Bucephalandra sp. grows well with a good nutrient supply and additional CO2 fertilisation. 'Theia' from the island of Borneo has fairly soft medium green to dark green or brown-green leaves with fine silver-white spots and reddish leaf stalks. The leaf edge is slightly wavy.

You can keep 'Theia' in soft to hard water. Under medium light, it grows well, but with less light, it is also suitable.

Bucephalandra sp. 'Theia' is best tied up and not planted, because the rhizome in the bottom of the aquarium can shift away. It is best to present the Bucephalandra tied on aquarium decorations, especially on roots or rocks.

With Bucephalandra sp. you can multiply 'Theia' pretty well by dividing the rhizome. Each piece must have at least 2-3 leaves.

Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:

The beautiful, slightly colourful Bucephalandra sp. 'Theia' is best tucked on with an inconspicuous nylon thread orb attached to the aquarium roots or pieces of rock with JBL's ProHaru Rapid adhesive gel.
