The flood arrowhead (Sagittaria subulata) from North America, Central America, and northern South America is a grassy rosette plant. Similar to the Vallisnerie, the flood arrowhead has ribbon-shaped, medium-green leaves. However, there is one special thing that distinguishes the aquarium plant from the Vallisnerie: If planted loosely, Flooding Arrowweed remains quite short at 5-10 cm and fits perfectly into the middle ground; if the stands are planted very densely, the plants stretch upwards and become 60 cm high. If the loose planting should show a longer leaf, it is simply cut off.

Sagittaria subulata grows quickly and well with a good supply of nutrients and even under weak light and without additional CO2 fertilisation, but significantly faster again under strong light and with CO2. If there is an iron deficiency in the aquarium water, Sagittaria subulata quickly turns pale or even yellow, so a good supply of nutrients is a must if you want to successfully care for the tidal arrowhead.

The flood arrowhead drives out runners with daughter plants and it can also be propagated in a targeted manner. You can simply cut off the Kindel and plant it.

This flood arrowhead comes as a cup from the laboratory. Thanks to the in vitro culture, these plants are free from pesticides and do not bring any pathogens or parasites with them. You can plant them immediately in any type of aquarium, even in tanks with sensitive shrimp.
