To optimise the protective effect for your pond liner, the substrate should be carefully prepared and as smooth, level and clean as possible. This enhances the durability of your entire installation.

Choosing the right material thickness for your project:
The type of pond underlay you need depends mainly on the size of your pond and the condition of the substrate. Selecting the appropriate thickness will ensure a stable and secure pond structure:

  • 1.0 mm thickness (200 g/m²): This option is ideal if you are planning a smaller garden pond on level, sandy ground.
  • 3.0 mm thickness (200 g/m²): Opt for this heavier-duty version if you are constructing a large Koi pond or if your soil is particularly stony.
