Small amounts of filamentous algae are a natural part of ponds. They produce oxygen and serve as hiding places for some animals. But if they get out hand in your pond, it will cause the carbonate hardness of the water to decrease and will destabilise the pH value of the water as well.

FadenalgenVernichter by Söll is a colourless and efficient formulation that stabilises the growth of algae. Within 24 hours it releases active oxygen and destroys excess algae. The "destroyed" algae can be removed shortly thereafter with a net. The special bacteria in the product do the rest as they accelerate the decomposition process of the dead algae. FadenalgenVernichter breaks down into water and oxygen within a few hours.

Application:

The product can be used several times over the course of a pond season. It is advisable to check the pH value of the water before and during use. If the pH value is above 8.5 and the carbonate hardness is below 5°dH (0.890 mmol/L HCO3-), we do not recommend using the product.

Sprinkle the product on the algae in the morning. Make sure that FadenalgenVernichter does not come into direct contact with aquatic plants in your pond.

For best results, switch off all the pond equipment (e.g. filter and pump), as this keep the water moving and could disrupt the process. FadenalgenVernichter is harmless to animals and aquatic plants if used correctly in the correct amounts. Fish can continue to stay in the pond when using the product.

Dosage recommendation:

Use 30-50 g FadenalgenVernichter for 1,000 L of pond water.
