Be careful when picking up your aquarium decorations, as some fish and especially catfish like to use them as a cave! Every 2-4 weeks you should look over your underwater world and gently lift and swivel each element so that any sediment inside can be removed.

Some fish are a bit shy when their home is moved and stick in the inside so make sure you do not scare them more than necessary!
About once a month, a slightly more thorough cleaning is recommended. Remove the decorative item carefully from the aquarium and place it in a bucket of aquarium water, as sometimes there are fish in it. Carefully use a safety net to put them back into the aquarium.

The decoration should be cleaned as gently as possible with your fingers, but never with chemicals, cleaning agents or sponges and brushes, as all this could possibly attack your favourite decoration and make it unsightly!
For cleaning, you should not use soap or other cleaning agents, as under no circumstances may residues get into the aquarium!
