Description
Bucephalandra sp. 'Brownie' is endemic to Borneo and belongs to the genus Aracaea. In the wild it is endemic and - like all Bucephalandra plants - it is an epiphyte plant: it thrives on wood, coconut shells or lava rocks, granite and slate. It hardly needs any fertiliser and copes well with low light - ideal for shady spots! It is suitable for the foreground and midground because it grows very slowly and reaches a max height of around 5 cm. This particular variety owes its name to the colour of its leaves - the warm green-brown hue adds an interesting splash of colour to any aquascape - ideal for planted tanks with rich details!
- Light requirements: variable, low light also acceptable
- Optimal temperature: 20 to 26°C
- Water values: 0 - 30°dGH
- pH value: 5 to 7
- Propagation: division of rhizome
- Growth rate: slow
Note: The plants are grown in-vitro in sterile conditions in a laboratory. They are therefore also suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. In-vitro plants do not harbour pests such as snails or parasites. No pesticides are used.
