The mineral salt SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was specially developed for keeping and breeding the particularly beautiful, but unfortunately also particularly sensitive, shrimp from Lake Towuti. Seawater was analyzed in the laboratory and based on these results the mineral mixture for the SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was assembled. With this mineral salt, you can imitate the water of the Towuti lake almost perfectly down to the smallest details, including the high pH value of 8.5.

With SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 you can prepare osmosis water or water from a demineraliser optimally for your Sulawesi shrimp. The species from Lake Towuti include, for example, the Harlequin shrimp Caridina woltereckae, the red gold flake Caridina spinata or the striped shrimp Caridina striata. Of course, you can also use SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 for the Sulawesi shrimp from the other lakes, for example for Caridina dennerli, the cardinal shrimp.

SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 promotes the microflora in the filter and the degradation of pollutants. Harmful bacteria do not appear in large numbers. The mineral salt increases the total hardness (GH) and the carbonate hardness (KH) of the water in a ratio of 1: 0.78.

The hardening salt for Sulawesi Aquariums SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 brings all the minerals and trace elements your Sulawesi shrimp need for health and great colours. No other additives are therefore necessary.
Mix in the mineral salt outside of your aquarium and stir well. SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 is not water-soluble due to its special composition, it will only dissolve completely if you add 1 bubble per second of CO2 with a CO2 system, and even then it takes 3-4 days. Before use, you should vigorously stir the water treated with CO2 with an aerator for at least 3 hours to get rid of the CO2 - only then will the water be ready for use. Alternatively, you can simply mix the water well with the salt and then add it directly to the aquarium after a temperature adjustment. The undissolved salt then dissolves in the filter. However, we expressly recommend the CO2 method in order to avoid fluctuations in the water values for the sensitive shrimp as far as possible.

No matter how you dissolve the salt, the freshwater should be about the same temperature as the water in your Sulawesian aquarium. You can add undissolved salt residues to the aquarium together with the water. Please close the can or the bucket immediately after use, because the mineral salt draws moisture and otherwise clumps.
Mineralised osmosis water or demineralised water with a level measuring spoon of SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 (approx. 3 g) to 20 litres of water. So you get a total hardness of about 7 ° dGH and a conductivity of about 220 +/- 40 µS (microsiemens).
