Hobby Absorbex Micro

Hobby Absorbex micro consists of sintered glass rings that actively counteract the breakdown of pollutants and absorbs nitrate and ammonium.

With the Hobby Absorbex micro you actively counteract the degradation of pollutants in the aquarium. Absorbex micro is a ceramic high-performance filter material and has less to do with conventional filter ceramics, which are often used as pre-filter material. Absorbex micro has an absorptive effect, i.e. the pollutants are broken down by the bacteria that have settled on the surface. With an available surface of 765 m² / litre, Absorbex micro has the largest surface of all compared filter materials. With a pore size of around 0.00005 mm and an average bacterial size of 0.000001 and 0.000008, Absorbex micro offers ideal colonisation conditions. The pore channels of the sintered glass rings ensure optimal oxygen and water flow. The pore size offers Nitrosomas and Nitribacter bacteria an optimal habitat. 1 litre corresponds to more than 4 basketball courts with an inner surface of 1,200 m². Absorbex micro is suitable for fresh and saltwater aquariums. One pack is sufficient for approx. 6 months in a 200-litre aquarium with a medium fish population.
