JBL Aquadur Malawi / Tanganjika

The JBL Aquadur Malawi / Tanganjika is a hardening saltwater conditioner for setting ideal water values in the Malawi and Tanganjika aquariums.

The minerals of the carbonate hardness stabilise the pH value of the aquarium water and thus prevent an acid spike and excessive pH fluctuations. The waters of Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika, like many tropical waters, have a special feature: their carbonate hardness is higher than their total hardness. This is because soda sources supply the lakes with a lot of carbonates that are bound to sodium and not to calcium or magnesium. For the species-appropriate keeping and breeding of the animals from the lakes, it is advisable to imitate these special water values. This is easily possible with JBL Aquadur Malawi / Tanganjika.

JBL Aquadur Malawi / Tanganjika turns tap water as well as osmosis water into ideal water for keeping species-friendly cichlids (Cichlidae) and the accompanying fauna (killifish, catfish, invertebrates). The pH is adjusted and buffered by increasing the carbonate hardness in the required alkaline range. This promotes health, natural colours and readiness to spawn. The hatching rate of sensitive species is increased.

Application
With JBL Aquadur, any soft water can be adjusted to any degree of hardness by simply stirring in the powder, depending on the needs of the fish to be treated. JBL Aquadur Malawi / Tanganjika is equally suitable for reverse osmosis water, tap water softened by ion exchange and rainwater. JBL Aquadur is particularly suitable for hardening when, due to the pollutant content in the source water, treatment has to be carried out via reverse osmosis or ion exchange. In addition, water treated with JBL Aquadur has an ion distribution that is more advantageous for most tropical fish than normal tap water.

Dosage
A measuring spoon (coated approx. 20 g) raises 100 l water by approx. 3.2 ° dKH. Detailed instructions with a calculation table are included with the product.
