This fine natural gravel is also great as aquarium sand. The grain size is particularly suitable for aquariums with bottom dwellers such as armoured catfish, shrimp or crabs. Armoured catfish, in particular, like to dabble in the aquarium sand, seeking food. Olibetta's natural gravel with a grain size of 0.4-0.8 mm is particularly suitable for this because the grains are rounded and have no sharp edges. Olibetta's aquarium gravel in this grain size is also well-suited for cichlids.

In coarse gravel, food particles can seep down and then cause water quality problems. A fine substrate in the aquarium is, therefore, an advantage to prevent food seepage and improve water quality. Plants are well supplied with nutrients, allowing them to thrive.

The sand can be used either alone or to create details in aquascapes or aquariums, such as a sand path. The natural gravel should be thoroughly rinsed with cold water before use to remove any abrasive debris and dust.
