Description
Flourish Excel™ is an excellent source of bioavailable organic carbon that is essential for plants for photosynthesis. Aquatic plants typically obtain carbon from CO₂ or from simple organic compounds such as photosynthetic intermediates. Flourish Excel™ contains a compound that is quite similar and bypasses the need for CO2 to provide a ready-to-use compound that is structurally similar. The structural similarity also makes it useful for building carbon chains in photosynthesis, as it can be easily converted into these compounds through chemical or enzymatic steps.
Flourish Excel™ can be used as a carbon supplement or an alternative to adding CO₂ so as not to affect the pH levels of the water. It has iron-reducing properties.
Recommended use:
► For first use or water change (> 40%): Use 5 ml Flourish Excel™ (= approx. 1 full cap) per 40 L of aquarium water.
► All other applications: Use 5 ml Flourish Excel™ (= approx. 1 full cap) per 200 L of aquarium water daily or every other day.
Note: Each cap thread is approximately 1 ml.
