Description

The JBL ProFlora Bio Eco is a bio-CO2 fertiliser system that ensures natural CO2 fertilization in aquariums.

CO2 is the main food that all aquarium plants need in order to grow healthy and vigorously. Healthy plants can be equated with reduced algae production since the food is deprived of them due to the improved growth of the plants. They supply the fish and other living things in the aquarium with vital oxygen. Healthy plants prevent algae growth, provide oxygen, remove pollutants, offer hiding places and reduce pathogens.

To develop the plant, the following needs should be met: Light as an energy source for photosynthesis CO2, nutrients and trace elements as growth promoters. JBL plant fertilisers supply the plants with all the main nutrients and essential trace elements via the water. This gives the plants all the nutrients they need to be absorbed through the leaves and roots. However, CO2 offers even more advantages for the aquarium: Most of the well-kept fish come from slightly acidic waters and are sensitive to fluctuating water values. CO2 is able to slightly acidify the aquarium water and stabilise water values.

JBL ProFlora Bio produces on CO2 from an organic substrate in a natural way through the activity of harmless microorganisms. A special buffer system in the substrate developed by JBL ensures almost constant CO2 production over approx. 40 days. JBL ProFlora Bio is light and easy to use and does not require a pressure bottle because the required pressure is achieved through biological fermentation.

The JBL ProFlora bio-CO2 fertiliser system is supplied including a storage bottle, the bio-components, a 3-meter special CO2 hose, as well as a suction holder and a vent. Installation and assembly is child's play: the storage bottle is screwed on and the two bio-components A and B are filled into the bottle one after the other using a household funnel. Now temperature-controlled tap water (between 20 and 25 degrees) is added to the upper edge of the label (not higher!). The lid is now screwed back onto the storage bottle and shaken briefly with the snap lid closed. Now the protective film is removed from one side of the self-adhesive Velcro strip and attached vertically in the upper vicinity of the reaction bottle. The reaction bottle is placed vertically next to the aquarium and the second protective film of the adhesive tape is removed. By pushing the aquarium glass, the bottle is secured against accidental knocking over and can be removed at any time (refill). If there is no space next to the aquarium, the storage bottle can also be secured in another vertical position.

To do this, the bottle must always be on a firm surface. The Velcro is not suitable for hanging the bottle freely. Now the air stone is plugged onto a free end of the CO2 hose and is placed near the bottom of the aquarium with the help of the suction holder at a point with slight water flow in the aquarium. Now the snap cap of the storage bottle is opened and the free end of the CO2 hose is placed on the nozzle. If necessary, the hose can be shortened accordingly with scissors. The CO2 supply starts within 24-48 hours and supplies the aquarium with CO2 for about 40 days. The CO2 production can be recognised as a fine string of pearls on the air stone.

The system is designed for a room temperature of 21-23 degrees. The CO2 production may not be sufficient in cooler rooms. In such cases, the room temperature should be increased accordingly.
