The JBL ProFlora CO2 Count Safe is a bubble counter with backflow protection for precise CO2 regulation in the aquarium.
The bubble counter is filled with water and connected to the CO2 system and the reactor (CO2 system and reactor are not included in the contents of delivery). With 2 suction cups, it can either be attached to the window outside the aquarium or with 2 screws directly on the furniture.
Control & security
Checking and dosing the bubbles is easy, as they are visible and countable thanks to the magnifying glass in the transparent part. Thanks to the check valve, water return to the CO2 system is actively prevented. Secure hose screw connections prevent accidental loosening of the hoses. The bubble counter has a hose screw connection and is easy to clean and fill thanks to the threaded connection with O-ring. The correct amount of CO2 is different for each aquarium and depends on the volume, the water movement and the planting of the aquarium. The CO2 hook can be checked using a CO2 test.
CO2 in the aquarium
The correct amount of CO2 in the water is of the utmost importance for the aquarium plants. The plants use carbon dioxide as a nutrient, trace elements and thus as a growth promoter for full development. Plants use the CO2 for photosynthesis and thereby supply the water with vital oxygen. They prevent algae growth, remove pollutants, offer hiding places and reduce pathogens.
CO2 is the main food that all aquarium plants need in order to grow healthy and vigorously. Healthy plants can be equated with reduced algae production since the food is deprived of them due to the improved growth of the plants. To develop the plant, the following needs should be met: Light as an energy source for photosynthesis CO2, nutrients and trace elements as growth promoters. JBL plant fertilisers supply the plants with all the main nutrients and essential trace elements via the water. This gives the plants all the nutrients they need to be absorbed through the leaves and roots.
However, CO2 offers even more advantages for the aquarium: Most of the well-kept fish come from slightly acidic waters and are sensitive to fluctuating water values. CO2 is able to slightly acidify the aquarium water and stabilise water values. The pH value in the aquarium, which is usually too high anyway, is reduced to a level appropriate for plants and fish and supplies the plants with their main nutrient.
