Description

The JBL ProAqua Test Mg-Ca is a water test for analysing the calcium and magnesium content in a seawater aquarium.

Calcium is used to build the skeleton of corals, as well as to build shells, snails, tube worms and others. A too low calcium value in the seawater aquarium affects the coral growth as well as the life functions of other invertebrates and also fish.
Magnesium together with calcium form the total hardness. Alongside potassium, magnesium is one of the macro elements that corals need for healthy and vigorous growth. Too low calcium and magnesium levels affect coral growth and prevent beautiful red lime algae from growing.

Recommended calcium levels:
Saltwater aquarium: 1200-1600 mg / l

Simple application:
First carry out the calcium test contained, then magnesium test. Subtract calcium test result from magnesium test result = magnesium content.
