JBL ProFlora T3

The JBL ProFlora T3 is a Co2 special hose for use with Co2 fertiliser systems in the aquarium.

Since air has a completely different diffusion behaviour than CO2, conventional air hoses, as we know them from aquariums, are unsuitable for CO2 systems, since they can or become permeable to CO2 gases. The JBL ProFlora T3 clear or black is a 3-meter long special hose with 4/6 mm, which effectively prevents CO2 losses between the CO2 fertiliser system on the way to the diffuser in the aquarium.

CO2 in the aquarium
The correct amount of CO2 in the water is of the utmost importance for the aquarium plants. The plants use carbon dioxide as a nutrient, trace elements and thus as a growth promoter for full development. Plants use the CO2 for photosynthesis and thereby supply the water with vital oxygen. They prevent algae growth, remove pollutants, offer hiding places and reduce pathogens.

CO2 is the main food that all aquarium plants need in order to grow healthy and vigorously. Healthy plants can be equated with reduced algae production since the food is deprived of them due to the improved growth of the plants. To develop the plant, the following needs should be met: Light as an energy source for photosynthesis CO2, nutrients and trace elements as growth promoters. JBL plant fertilisers supply the plants with all the main nutrients and essential trace elements via the water. This gives the plants all the nutrients they need to be absorbed through the leaves and roots.

However, CO2 offers even more advantages for the aquarium: Most of the well-kept fish come from slightly acidic waters and are sensitive to fluctuating water values. CO2 is able to slightly acidify the aquarium water and stabilise water values. The pH value in the aquarium, which is usually too high anyway, is reduced to a level suitable for plants and fish and supplies the plants with their main nutrient.
