JBL ProScape P Macroelements is a phosphorus plant fertiliser for aquascaping aquariums and provides plants with the necessary nutrients and prevents a lack of phosphate.
JBL ProScape P Macroelements supplies the aquarium water with phosphate in the form of water-soluble phosphates. This gives the aquatic plants the necessary supply of phosphate. Potassium is also added. Phosphorus in the form of phosphates plays a crucial role in all life processes. Thus, phosphates are centrally involved in the entire energy metabolism as well as in the structure of the genetic information of all organisms. While phosphates are more often present in excess in aquariums with more fish and can trigger algae growth there, phosphates in plant aquariums are often insufficiently available due to the consumption of aquatic plants and thus limit growth.
Since the specific consumption cannot be predicted exactly, we recommend regular checking of the nitrate and phosphate values, especially before each subsequent replenishment. The nutrient consumption across all necessary micro and macro elements is unpredictable, especially with some microelements, and depends heavily on the cultivated aquatic plants. At the very low concentrations, these microelements cannot be measured using aquarium tests. It is therefore advisable to prevent the accumulation of individual nutrients by regularly changing the water at a rate of 30-50% weekly and adding fertiliser with JBL ProScape Fe + Microelements in plant aquariums. JBL ProScape P Macroelements can be used in the aquarium with invertebrates without danger. The fertiliser is not harmful to shrimp, crabs and snails.
To determine the exact fertiliser requirement taking into account the initial values of the aquarium water, a dosing calculator is recommended.
Plant genera that take up many nutrients via roots:
Echinodorus, Cryptocoryne, Vallisneria, Crinum, Nymphea
Plant genera that take up nutrients via leaves and roots: Ludwigia, Limnophila, Hygrophila, Alternanthera, Cabomba
